Leather Standards

Every hide chosen for quality, texture, and lasting elegance

Leather Standards

At Mont Pedro, exceptional craftsmanship begins with exceptional materials. Every piece we create starts with carefully selected full-grain leather—valued for its natural strength, character, and ability to age beautifully over time.

Full-grain leather is the highest quality layer of the hide, retaining its natural grain and unique markings. Rather than being sanded or corrected, it preserves the authentic texture of the leather, allowing each wallet, belt, and accessory to develop a rich patina as it is used and carried.

Many of our leathers are sourced from carefully selected Sri Lankan tanneries, where traditional tanning knowledge and quality hides produce leather with rich grain patterns and dependable durability. We primarily work with vegetable-tanned buffalo and cowhide, materials known for their strength, structure, and timeless character.

For select editions, we also explore exotic leathers with distinctive textures and finishes that highlight the versatility of natural leather while maintaining the same uncompromising standards.

At Mont Pedro, materials are never an afterthought — they are the foundation of everything we craft. The quality of the leather determines the life of the product, and we refuse to compromise on it.
