Some contrasts are subtle. Others command attention through the strength of their composition. The Ember Obsidian Edition from the Regula Series by Mont Pedro Leather is built around one such contrast — the warmth of reddish tan against the depth of obsidian black.

The exterior features full-grain, vegetable-tanned cowhide embossed with an intricate crocodile pattern. Its reddish-tan surface introduces warmth, texture, and visual depth, with sculpted scales and tonal variations that give the leather a distinctive character.

Complementing this is full-grain, vegetable-tanned, oil-waxed obsidian-black cowhide. Deep, composed, and understated, the black leather creates a striking counterbalance to the reddish tan. Together, these contrasting tones evoke the glow of embers against the dark solidity of volcanic stone.

Every detail is brought together by hand.

Beige waxed thread traces the construction through precise saddle stitching, maintaining a consistent 3.38 mm stitch spacing. The lighter thread creates a deliberate contrast against the darker leather, making the stitching an integral part of the design rather than a detail hidden from view.
