The Vertex - Crimson & Black

The Obsidian Crimson Edition is built on obsidian black full grain vegetable-tanned buffalo hide. Buffalo leather carries a naturally expressive grain — broader, more organic, slightly rugged in its movement. The surface reveals subtle waves, strength lines, and depth that cannot be artificially manufactured. It feels dense, grounded, and substantial in hand. Black in its purest, raw form.

Selected areas of the interior are finished in black full grain vegetable-tanned cowhide. Compared to buffalo, cowhide presents a tighter and more uniform grain structure — firm, compact, and structured. This contrast in texture is deliberate: rugged exterior authority balanced with interior precision.

The rest of the interior shifts dramatically into crimson red full grain vegetable-tanned oil-waxed cowhide. The oil-waxed finish enriches the surface with depth and tonal variation. Light interacts differently across the leather, revealing darker undertones beneath the red. The grain remains visible — smooth yet alive — offering richness without gloss. Crimson against black creates controlled intensity. Not loud. Calculated.

Every edge is hand-burnished in the Mont Pedro method — layered, sealed, and polished for a finish built to endure daily friction.

Hand-stitched using crimson red waxed thread, the structure is reinforced with controlled tension that machines cannot replicate. The stitching integrates into the palette while strengthening the form.
